Julie Stoffer
Cast Member: Real Worldw Orleans, Ne
She appeared on MTV's The Real World: New Orleans in 2000.  Her religion became central to the plot, and she found herself disabusing her roommates of some "pretty whacked" ideas about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  The question of whether Mormons can drink Coke was broached, as were mythical prohibitions against dating and dancing.  In 2003 and 2004, she was invited back by MTV to appear in two installments of Road Rules

Did being raised LDS play a part in your weight gain or weight loss?

AV: My mom put me on a celebrity Mormon Web site. I was raised LDS. I’m not active. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that there are a lot of successful people out there who are LDS, because you’re raised with different standards and know what it feels like to go for something.

A lot of it has to do with the way I was raised, for sure. I love the church, and half of my family is active, but for me it’s just not the right fit. I was raised LDS in a very Mormon community, yet everything in my life was different than everyone around me. There was a lot of aloneness, a lot of separateness. I was raised by my grandparents. My dad was Catholic and Mexican. My mom was white and Mormon. He was poor, she was rich.

Kelly Wiglesworth
Contestant: Survivor Borneo (Season 1, 2000)
She was a resident of Las Vegas before appearing on the show.  To prepare for the challenge, she diligently practiced Tae Bo to get in shape.  She also maintained a strict diet of fruits and vegetables to acclimate to the island fare.  But she wasn't prepared for the cast members' sleazy tactics and back-stabbing in an effort to win the $1 million prize.  She won five immunity challenges, and no one ever voted against her.  In the final episode, she lost to Richard in a vote of three to four.
