Delos Jewkes | J. Delos Jewkes, , worked as a singer in hundreds of movies, mostly un-credited, as well as vaudeville. Jewkes, who was the voice of God in the DeMille classic "The Ten Commandments". was said to have a voice that could go five octaves below Middle C. Jewkes also sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Delos appeared in all of the MacDonald-Eddy musical. He appeared in about 300 films |
Delos Jewkes, who played Glen Cripes (the man who sang behind the curtain) in this very funny episode of "Barney and the Choir" on the Andy Griffith Show. When the awful sound coming from the Mayberry choir is narrowed down to Barney, the members decide they must get rid of him. Since no one has the heart to do it, they set him up telling him he is singing into a supersensitive microphone, while someone else is actually singing the part back stage. www.zille.com |

Jenny Jordan Frogley |
She's opened for Ray Charles, substituted for both Aretha Franklin and
Gladys Knight and sung at Radio City Music Hall and Opryland . . . . Pick up a local CD and chances are very good that she might be singing back-up vocals or an individual song or two she appears on close to 100 albums. And if you play the "King Kong" video game, hers is the last voice you hear before you die. Deseret News

The Jetsmusic
|
Eighties teenyboppers The Jets came from n
large family (17 children overall) and were comprised of eight of the
family's brothers and sisters -- Leroy, Eddie, Eugene, Haini, Rudy,
Kathi, Elizabeth , and Moana Wolfgramm (their parents originally
emigrated to the U.S. from the South Pacific nation of Tonga, in 1965,
but their offspring were raised in Minneapolis). From 1986 though 1989,
The Jets enjoyed several dance-pop hits (tops being "Crush on You" and
"You Got It All"), as well as several full-length albums, two of which
(their 1986 self-titled debut and 1987's Magic) obtained gold and/or
platinum certification. www.vh1.com They are comprised of brothers and sisters of the Wolfgramm Family. The original group was 8 brothers and sisters, Leroy, Eddie, Eugene, Haini, Rudy, Kathi, Elizabeth and Moana. The Wolfgramm family has 17 children so it was joked that "If one leaves, there is another Jet just waiting in the wings" as is the case today. It was a family affair as their parents were involved in every aspect of their careers and often would tour with their little brothers, sisters and cousins watching from the sidelines. They often credit their faith as being one of the things that helps hold everything together as they are a strong Latter Day Saint Family.

Kaskade
(born Ryan Raddon) DJ and Record Producer |
I am a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, otherwise known as Mormons, and I find a lot of peace and happiness in that. I am sure this has had an effect on my sound for the better. edmontonsun.com As a house producer who dramatically ascended from an internship at Om Records to become its A&R executive and flagship artist, Ryan "Kaskade" Raddon exemplified the San Francisco imprint's aesthetic: lightly throbbing bass, heartfelt vocals, and soft, percussive grooves. miaminewtimes.com |
